Within Future Film Festival’s educational program Four River Film Festival presented as an example of a successful international youth film festival, which helped many young filmmakers on their way to professionalism.
BFI Future Film Festival is one of the most important British film festival. Its 12th edition took place in London from 21st to 24th February. FFF is utterly important to young ambitious filmmakers aged 16 to 25. One of the many FFF’s educational panels was about introducing successful film festivals that proved to be a springboard for many young people, who decided to take up film professionally. Four River Film Festival was presented as one of those festivals and in a way got acknowledged for all the years it has been helping young filmmakers. The Croatian film association was represented by Ana Đordić, Lea Štranjgar, Sanja Zanki Pejić and Mija Matasović.

Over 3000 short films were applied to this year’s Future Film Festival and only around 50 films entered the competition. Furthermore, only ten prizes were awarded but their worth is over 12.000 pounds!
The significance of Future Film festival is in its participants. Some of them were nominated for BAFTA and Academy Awards, some of them work in film industry all over the world and teach young peps how to become professionals.
This supports the fact that international youth film festivals really do brace young filmmakers but also highlights the importance of international cooperation between festivals, which is exactly what Croatian Film Association and Four River Film Festival have been developing for years.
