2025

As an introduction to the competition program screenings, we present to you our partner organizations, festivals and workshops from Croatia and all around the world.

This August, the Ivanovec Photo-Cinema Club organized the 2nd Ivanovec Film Camp, intended for children and young people from the 4th grade of primary school to the 4th grade of high school. The workshops were held from August 11th to 15th at the Ivanovec Cultural Center.

This year’s camp offered two workshops: Fiction Film workshop, led by Stjepan Petković, and Digital Photography workshop, led by Živa Žigmund. Over the course of five days, the participants went through the entire creative process – from an idea to the finished film or photograph – through both the theoretical and practical components.

The goal of this Film Camp is to encourage creativity, develop film and photography skills, and raise awareness of the importance of filmmaking in Međimurje, especially among children and young people.

This year marks the 16th year of the “Josip Krunić” Summer Film School in Gunja; an educational film camp intended for young people aged 16 to 25. This year, it took place in the unique setting of the Zvjezdangrad camp site, in the middle of the Spačva Forest, from August 30th to September 4th, 2025.

This year’s theme – “Summer Film School in the Forest” – combined filmmaking with nature, camping and researching local cultural heritage. The program includes several workshops: fiction film, documentary film, animated film, traditional singing, cyanotype (an experimental photographic technique).

The location, Zvjezdangrad, is located deep in the Spačva Forest, on the border with Serbia, along the Studva River. According to legend, an ancient city once stood there, surrounded by canals and dense forests, known for its legends about the Templars, knights, fairies and dragons. Zvjezdangrad is still a symbol of the connection between man, nature and myth – an ideal place for awakening creativity and creating new stories.

The “Josip Krunić” Summer Film School was held in the forest for the first time. We learn, create and camp under the stars – surrounded by nature, inspired by legends and dedicated to the joint creation of film and art.

The program is organized by the Blank_film incubator association from Zagreb.

Blank is open to all, especially children and young people. Be sure to visit us on the first Monday of the month when we hold regular meetings.

This year, as many as eight Blank students enrolled in various programs at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. They developed their entrance works at Blank’s film workshops. As part of the Close-up program, they will present the educational workshops that prepare young people for entrance exams at universities.
